Our Story: Care that feels like family

Selectacare was founded by Bill and Joan Lindsay, inspired by Joan’s work as a Community Health Nurse and her experience caring for loved ones. They saw the need for home care that was personal, compassionate, and truly centered around each client.

Their mission was simple: put families first and lead with heart. In 2002, their son Greg took over, continuing their legacy—Selectacare even cares for his father today.

Jennyfer later joined the team, bringing international nursing experience and a passion for connecting families with the right caregivers. Louresa and Girly also bring extensive hands-on caregiving experience, enriching our team with their knowledge and compassion. Together, they have helped build and strengthen a supportive, people-first model of care.

Most recently, while I was out of the country, one of my clients experienced a crisis and was admitted to the hospital. It happened very quickly, so I contacted Selectacare. Greg and his team stepped in immediately, coordinating PSWs to support my client and helping navigate a very stressful situation. Both Belle and Merry Jean were absolutely lovely. You can truly tell they care about what they do, and that culture clearly starts with Greg’s compassionate and attentive leadership. At one point, we needed to arrange an additional overnight shift at the last minute, and without hesitation Greg had it sorted out immediately.
